Rochford residents can get money smart with free workshops

22 March 2018
90-minute Smart Money sessions will be available to local Rochford residents

Rochford residents looking to make their money go further can sign up for free one-to-one workshops taking place over the next few weeks.

Sanctuary Housing has joined forces with Citizens Advice Rochford & Rayleigh to offer 90-minute Smart Money sessions to local residents.

How to budget, manage bills and household costs will be just some of the topics people will be able to discuss with trained Citizens Advice staff.

There will also be information available on dealing with debt, banking and saving money on the weekly shop.

While the workshops are independent and do not provide specific financial advice, they will give people an opportunity to learn how to better organise their money.

The Smart Money sessions, which can be arranged for a time to suit individuals, take place at the Citizens Advice offices in either Rochford or Rayleigh.

Chris Silvey, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “Managing money can be a concern for many people and these free one-to-one sessions will provide greater understanding of how to organise personal finances.

“By supporting these sessions, we can help ensure residents have access to an array of important financial skills.”

Sue Murray, Citizens Advice Rochford & Rayleigh Chief Executive, commented: “Smart Money sessions are hugely valuable to the community and an important part of the service we offer to local residents.

“We are pleased to be working with Sanctuary Housing to provide such a vital service and look forward to welcoming as many people as possible.”

To book a Smart Money session, call Citizens Advice on 01268 779747 and choose option one.

The project is being funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
