Sanctuary Housing supports the Noel Park £1 million project

15 July 2014

Sanctuary Housing and the Noel Park Big Local project recently held a fun-filled community picnic in Russell Park, in exchange for residents’ views on how to spend one million pounds worth of funding.

At the event families competed in giant outdoor games, battled for victory in an inflatable gladiator’s arena and enjoyed demonstrations from the local police and fire service. Residents were able to come together for a tasty picnic while listening to live music from local band and residents The 2 Bluebirds.

In exchange for the entertainment provided residents were made aware of the funding, managed by the Noel Park Big Local project, and asked for their views on how the money would be best spent.

The Noel Park community has been given the money as part of the Big Local scheme funded by The Big Lottery Fund. The Big Local scheme is providing an exciting opportunity for residents in 150 areas of England to make a massive and lasting positive difference to their communities.

Meghan Zinkewich-Peotti, Sanctuary Housing’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “We were very happy to make a donation towards the activities and to offer our support at the Noel Park event.

“Big Local is about bringing together local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from residents, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live.”

Noel Park’s Big Local organiser, Sam Tomlin, added: “Noel Park has really benefitted from events such as the picnic in the park by bringing together many different people in the community.

“This includes Sanctuary Housing’s Page High estate along with Sky City and the Sandlings. A big thanks to Sanctuary Housing for helping fund this event.”

What properties do Sanctuary Housing manage in the Noel Park area?

Sanctuary Housing manage a 92 unit estate, Page High, within Noel Park and therefore plays a key role in promoting the Big Local project to its residents.
