Sanctuary offers fundraising support at Race for Life

27 July 2015

Staff from Sanctuary Housing in Exeter have been showing their support for a national charity by taking part in the three mile Race for Life.

Run in pink

Employees from the South West region donned pink and jogged, walked and ran their way to the finish line at yesterday’s Race for Life in Exeter.

Raising pounds

The team was delighted to raise around £600 for Cancer Research UK at the Race for Life thanks to the generosity of their colleagues, family and friends.

Tasty bake off

As an additional fundraising effort, staff have also planned a bake off for the autumn where they will pit their cooking skills against each other and enjoy some tasty treats in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Julie Stabb, team secretary, had a fantastic time at the Race for Life. She commented: “We really wanted to get together and raise money for charity, and the support that both Cancer Research and Macmillan offer is admirable and close to lots of people’s hearts. The Race for Life was so much fun and a great way of keeping fit!”

Helen Harding-Bentley, Sanctuary’s operations manager for the area, added: “We’re really proud of everyone who took part in the Race for Life and I look forward to tasting the delicious delicacies on sale at our office bake off in a few weeks’ time.”
