Sanctuary Group is celebrating after one of its new housing sites in Sheffield received a national award.
What do the National Site Awards celebrate?
Run by the Considerate Constructor’s scheme, the awards recognise those developments that have raised the bar for considerate construction; including looking at the measures a site has put in place to be more considerate towards local neighbourhoods and the general public.
The site was judged on the Scheme’s five-point Code of Considerate Practice – care about appearance, respect the community, protect the environment, secure everyone’s safety and value their workforce.

Feedback on receiving the award highlighted that the site had demonstrated the highest levels of consideration towards the public, its workforce and the environment.
The £5.5m development on Manchester Road comprises 55 apartments for the over 55s, providing a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments for general rent.
“Considerate to the local area”
Rob Harbourne, Sanctuary’s development manager, said: “As with all our development sites, we’re committed to working closely with our contractors to ensure our development is having a positive impact on the local community. Keepmoat worked extremely hard on this site and did just that, ensuring all activities were considerate to the local area.”
“Newton Grange has provided much needed new homes for the older residents of Stocksbridge and it is a development we’re hugely proud of. We and Keepmoat are delighted and grateful to have been recognised for our approach to building new homes.”
