Shiregreen jobseekers can learn how to stand out from the crowd

A new course in Shiregreen is set to equip local jobseekers with the skills and knowledge they need for future employment, through a partnership with Sanctuary Housing and the work-wise Foundation.

What Employers Want

The What Employers Want course is aimed at helping Shiregreen residents get prepared for work through a four-week programme, which will cover several areas including CV writing, interview skills and how to stand out from the crowd.

“Get involved”

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Melanie King, commented: “Sanctuary is committed to supporting residents in developing skills and accessing opportunities to help them into employment.

“What Employers Want looks set to be a fantastic project in Shiregreen and we would encourage anyone in need of a helping hand into work to get involved.”

“Practical course”

John Barber from work-wise added: “What Employers Want is a practical course that aims to give the attendees the best chance of securing and retaining employment.”

Come along

The What Employers Want course will run every Thursday for four weeks from 16 November, 1 – 4pm at Shiregreen Neighbourhood Centre. It is open to local residents aged 18 and over.

Places should be booked in advance and can be secured by calling work-wise on 07500 331400 or by emailing info@work-wise.co.uk.

This project is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
