Shiregreen residents raised hot drinks and mince pies at a festive celebration to discuss the launch of community projects.
Toasting the season with community projects
The residents of Sycamore Heights, a Sanctuary Housing-owned scheme for over 55s, joined Sanctuary representatives to toast the season and find out more about new neighbourhood activities for 2019.
Local activities
As well as being signposted to clubs and groups already underway, people had the chance to give their views on the sort of things they’d like to see happening locally.
Tackling loneliness
Any new projects will also aim to link in with the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness, which looks to shine a spotlight on the millions of lonely people living across the country.
“Listen to what they want to see in Shiregreen”
Melanie King, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “As we work to plan our neighbourhood projects for the next year, it’s invaluable to be able to speak to our residents directly and listen to what they want to see in Shiregreen.”
