It was party time for residents in Lache at the annual family fun day supported by Sanctuary Housing.
Lache Fun Day
Some of the many activities on offer for families to enjoy included learning circus skills, a bungee run and bouncy castles at the event at Lache Community Centre, Hawthorn Road.
What happened at the Lache Fun Day
Organised by a team of volunteers from Lache Community Development Trust and supported by Chester & District Housing Trust, Cllr Alex Tate and Cheshire Fire & Rescue, the event also featured live music from local group The Identity as well as the finale of the Lache Has Talent competition, which was made up of pupils from Lache and St. Clare’s Primary Schools.
Lache Has Talent
Jinny Maddox won Lache Has Talent, which was organised by Lache FM volunteers Su Johnstone, Steph Cookson and Matt Poynton, by singing a hit from Les Miserables in costume.
Local organisations including St. Mark’s Church, Chester Healthy Living Centre, Lache Health Centre and Lache Children’s Centre all contributed to what was a colourful and fun filled day by providing, advice, information and entertainment.
CDHT Area Manager Sue Cadwaladr, who was one of the judges for Lache Has Talent, said: "It was great to see so many families coming together to support the community in Lache. It was fantastic to see so much talent on show in the competition from the Lache area.”
Mother of Jinny, Jenna Maddox, added: “We are all very proud of Jinny. She has worked very hard and has sung her heart out in front of a big audience.”
