Sunshine Centre receive Christmas toy donations

23 December 2015

Sanctuary Housing and Cherwell District Council staff have been giving Santa a helping hand this Christmas, by making a toy delivery to The Sunshine Centre.

Staff from the leading housing provider and the council have donated new and second hand toys and books to the centre, which provides support services for local children and their families.

Dozens of toys were collected for the appeal and hand delivered by Santa’s elves, ready to be sent to families in need during the festive period.

Jill Edge, from The Sunshine Centre, commented: “It is always heart-warming when people think of those in more challenging circumstances and give so generously at this time of year.

“We would like to thank everyone for their kindness and wish one and all a happy Christmas.”

Kate Winstanley, Sanctuary Housing’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, added: “We have worked in partnership with The Sunshine Centre for many years, and supported a number of their community led projects. It’s lovely that our staff have been able to continue this support by being so generous at Christmas time.”
