Take control of finances with money workshops in Hackney

14 September 2018
Residents in Hackney are being given help to manage their finances.

Residents in Hackney are being offered a helping hand to manage their finances and make their money go further.

With funding from Sanctuary Housing, Money A+E is running a series of local workshops to help residents become more confident with their finances and have more money in their pocket at the end of the month.

Attendees will also learn how to search for employment opportunities online, access internet banking and use comparison websites to find the best deals on financial products and services.

Workshops are taking place at Morningside Community Centre on Tuesday 25 September and Gascoyne Community Centre on Monday 26 November, with sessions running from 10.15am-1pm.

Money A+E is a social enterprise that provides financial advice and educational services to BAME (Black, Asian, minority ethnic) and hard to reach communities across London.

Greg Ashby, operations director at Money A+E, said: “Understanding how to make the most of your money is so important and we have seen first-hand how a little advice and education can have a huge positive impact on the lives of people in our local communities.”

Toby Moore, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, added: “These workshops are a great opportunity for Hackney residents to learn valuable financial and digital skills.

“The financial wellbeing of our residents is of the utmost importance to us and we are delighted to be working with Money A+E to provide a project that will make a significant difference.”

Anyone interested in attending the workshops or finding out more can contact Nadine Tchaho on nadine@moneyaande.co.uk or call 07882 976218.

This project is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
