Telford residents have celebrated the official opening of the Telford Millennium Community (TMC) Park.
Almost 200 local people attended the event, organised by the Telford Millennium Community Trust, which was jam-packed with activities and entertainment for all the family.
A fun-filled event
Visitors were treated to spectacular skateboard stunts and competitions, BMX time trials and sports coaching sessions, and the youngsters enjoyed a bouncy castle, trying their hand at balloon modelling and saw themselves transformed with colourful face painting.
“Many years of partnership work”
Haroon Riaz, TMC officer, said: “We were delighted to welcome so many of the local community along to the event, and thankfully the weather held out for us. This new community facility is a welcome addition to the area and we’re so pleased with the result after many years of partnership work.”
Telford Millennium Community
One of seven millennium communities across the UK, the TMC manages over 400 homes with a mix of social and affordable rent housing, shared ownership and the £12 million Rose Manor Extra Care scheme and Oleander House supported living accommodation.
The Telford Millennium Community Trust, who help shape the community and ensure residents have their say about the estate, is formed by Sanctuary Housing, Ketley Parish Council, Taylor Wimpey and elected residents.
