Residents from a Telford housing scheme for older people have joined other local people for a grand community lunch event.
Those living at Sanctuary Housing’s Hartshorne Court shared lunch with members of the public while enjoying entertainment from vintage vocal harmony group The Retro Roses.
The event, which was attended by more than 40 people, was part of The Big Lunch – a national event that brings communities across the UK together for a shared meal.
The fantastic feast, which was also attended by Mayor of Telford Cllr Stephen Reynolds, was conjured up using dishes brought in from both Sanctuary residents and the wider community, with no fewer than 30 puddings on offer from attendees.
Hartshorne Court scheme manager Vivienne Chalmers said: “It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout for our community lunch.
“It was fantastic to see so many people come together and bond over good food, good music and good company.”
