Demolition update (Covid-19)
The health and safety of our residents, their families and our staff is our number one priority.
Following recent government guidance around coronavirus (Covid-19) we have taken the decision to pause work on the planned demolition of the fire-damaged block on the Barne Barton estate. The site is being secured by our contractors who will be leaving at the end of the week.
We will continue to put further updates on this page and thank residents for their understanding and patience.
The vision for a regenerated, modern and thriving Barne Barton estate in Plymouth.
Sanctuary Housing is planning a multi-million-pound regeneration of Talbot Gardens on the Barne Barton estate in St Budeaux, Plymouth.
Under the proposals, we will be demolishing ten blocks of maisonettes and replacing them with a mix of high-quality new housing to meet the needs of the local community.
Sanctuary previously managed the 120 homes - located on Talbot Gardens, Savage Road and Roope Close – and completed the purchase of the freehold for the site in December 2019 following overwhelming support for a site regeneration from residents.
We will now be working with residents, Plymouth City Council and other local stakeholders to transform the area and provide the community with high-quality, vibrant homes for many years to come.
