Landa

Landa of the RSP

Landa lives in a Sanctuary flat in Plymouth with her two sons, their home for four years.

“Before Sanctuary offered us our flat, me and my sons lived in a caravan in a farmer’s field with no electricity or running water.

“I originally worked in business communications as an International Communications Manager before retraining and changing my career to alternative health. I am currently studying for a PhD at Plymouth University and work as a part-time lecturer at the university. My PhD is in Sociology, looking at the hyper sexualisation of society and its associated problems through a social-psychology lens.

“I sing, play the harp and harmonium, hold community singing groups and enjoy swimming in the sea all year round. I also meditate and practice conscious movement and mindfulness, enjoy photography and attend a local photography group. I love language and words in general and I’m learning Spanish, meeting up with a cafe-based Spanish group every Saturday. I am just about to start another course in Ancient Greek and I have spent a year studying Sanskrit.

“I see the issues and problems that my neighbours encounter and have lots of ideas for things that could be improved. I thought it would be useful for me to share these ideas on a national level through the Sanctuary panel.”
