Activities will include multi-sports at Graham Road Park and Queen Elizabeth Playing Fields on Blacon Avenue, bootcamp sessions at Saxon Way Playing Field, walking football at Blacon High School and beginners circuits at Matthew Henry Church on Nevin Road.
Energise Blacon is part of Sanctuary’s Love Sport programme
Energise Blacon forms part of Sanctuary’s national Love Sport programme, in partnership with Sport England, which is taking place in Blacon and three further Sanctuary neighbourhoods, and aims to engage more than 2,250 residents across the country in sport and fitness activities.
Sanctuary’s commitment to the five-year programme has been match-funded by Sport England, through National Lottery investment.
Janet Gittins, Avenue Service’s neighbourhoods manager, said: “It was fantastic to see residents of all ages taking part in a wide range of sporting activities. There are a host of low cost activities over the summer to encourage residents in Blacon to get energised.”
