Coffee mornings offer career possibilities and childminding information

Sanctuary Housing support Hackney Learning Trust to provide information on how to pursue childminding as an occupation

Hackney residents interested in pursuing a career in childminding or mothers looking to return to work are being encouraged to attend two free coffee morning events.

Sanctuary Housing is supporting Hackney Learning Trust to provide information sessions on how to pursue childminding as an occupation, while also helping Holistic Support to deliver a separate course that can give mothers the confidence to return to work.

The coffee mornings provide a chance for residents to learn more about both of the courses and will take place from 10am to 12pm at Gascoyne Community Centre (Friday 24 February) and Kingsmead Community Centre (Friday 3 March).

Residents will be able to receive a range of guidance at both events and find out more about locally run courses which will support them into employment.

Sanctuary’s neighbourhoods partnerships manager Toby Moore said: “Both of these courses offer our residents the chance to develop their skills and access training opportunities.

“We’d encourage anyone to attend to see if either of the courses might be of interest to them.”

Sanctuary’s involvement in both projects is being funded through the organisation’s Community Investment Fund, which supports projects benefiting Sanctuary residents and their communities.
