Residents at St Mary’s Lodge in Scarborough will be able to grow their own salad crops and vegetables in a new greenhouse this summer, thanks to a donation from ventilation manufacturer EnviroVent.
EnviroVent, based in Harrogate, gifted a greenhouse to St Mary’s which now has pride of place the gardens following a request by Sanctuary for help with replacing the old greenhouse.
Scheme manager Paul Sanderson said: “EnviroVent was able to help our residents out and we would like to thank them for their support. It means a lot to us to be able to grow fruit and vegetables again, with benefits to both our health and well-being.”
Lewis Ronaldson, from EnviroVent, added: “It’s great to see the new greenhouse at St Mary’s Lodge and to know that it will be put to great use by the residents.”
