Avenue Services is pleased to announce William Hogg as the new Chair of its Board.
The Board has been further strengthened by the appointment of the former Lord Mayor of Chester Hugo Deynem, who is one of three members elected to represent the council, and Gus Cairns, who is the new community representative. The arrivals take the number on the Board to eight.
William, a Chartered Accountant, is currently also Chair of Sanctuary’s Chester and District Committee which was set-up to oversee services and activities in Chester following the Group’s acquisition of Chester and District Housing Trust in 2013.
He said: “It is an honour and privilege to have been elected as Chair of Avenue Services and I am excited by the opportunity to deliver the best outcomes and services for the people of Blacon.”
Hugo Deynem, who recently completed his year as Lord Mayor of Chester, has been a Cheshire West and Chester ward councillor for Kelsall and Tarvin since 2009 and will be one of three council voices on the Board.
He commented: “Avenue Services does so much positive work within the community and I am delighted to be part of that going forward, further strengthening the relationship the council has with Sanctuary Group.”
Gus Cairns has lived in Blacon for more than 60 years and is actively involved with the community, currently serving as a governor of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of Blacon Health and Wellbeing Group.
The retired Blacon resident said: “Avenue Services has been a force for good in transforming Blacon into the thriving neighbourhood it is today and I am excited to be able to help shape its future.”
Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, added: “I would like to formally welcome William, Hugo and Gus onto the Avenue Services Board. They are all excellent additions, bringing a wealth of skills and experience which can be drawn upon to help us continue in our objectives of helping drive improvements in Blacon for the benefit of local people.”
