Motivational ceremony

Nominees will be invited to join local VIPs and residents at a glittering ceremony on Friday 4 March 2016 at Torquay’s historic Palace Hotel, where the winners will be revealed before guests can dance the night away.

Marking the second annual awards, next year’s ceremony includes new judges’ choice category Volunteer of the Year, generously sponsored by Torbay Community Development Trust (TCDT).

Alison Kenny, Sanctuary’s head of neighbourhood partnerships, said: “We are delighted that we are again able to recognise the contributions that our communities in Torbay make. One of our main aims is to help our residents achieve the ambitions they hold for themselves and their neighbourhoods, and our community awards help us to say thank you to the many people who help us do that.

“This year’s ceremony was so inspiring and I can’t wait to see who 2016’s winners are! I would encourage all Torbay residents to get their nominations in.”

Peter Stokes, volunteer centre manager at the TCDT, added: “We are proud to be involved in Sanctuary’s second Torbay Community Star Awards. It is an opportunity to reflect on all the good work local residents do to make Torbay a great place to live.”
