Older residents in Chester have got into the party spirit and donned colourful attire at Sanctuary Housing’s eighth annual Purple Day celebrations.
Residents from across Chester attended the annual event, which featured free entertainment and activities including tombola, a raffle, bingo, armchair exercise taster session and live music from a local singer.
Information and advice was also on offer to residents from local organisations, including Age UK and Deafness Support Network. A light lunch, provided by Sanctuary’s Group of Older people living in Sheltered Housing (GOSH), was also available for a small donation; including tea, coffee and cake.
Maggi Dempsey, Sanctuary’s resident involvement officer, said: “Once again Purple Day was a huge success with our residents. It was wonderful to see so many people having a good laugh, coming together and having fun. A big thank you to the GOSH group who work so hard to make this such an enjoyable event.”
