Shiregreen residents are being encouraged to get involved with a community litter pick to coincide with the tenth anniversary year of Love Parks.

The hour-long event at Concord Park on Thursday 3 November has been organised by Sanctuary Housing and Sheffield City Council to help maintain pride in the neighbourhood and bring locals together.

Love Parks, which aims to eliminate litter, end waste and improve local green spaces, is celebrating its decade in the same year that Sanctuary marks 10 years of achievements in Shiregreen.

Melanie King, Sanctuary Housing’s neighbourhood manager for Shiregreen, said: “This litter pick is a great opportunity for residents to come together and keep Shiregreen looking beautiful in this special anniversary year for both Sanctuary and Love Parks.”

Sanctuary is also supporting the event by supplying equipment for volunteers including litter pickers and hoops.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the litter pick should meet at the car park at Concord Park at 10am on 3 November.
