Community-spirited Rochford Housing Association (RHA) residents are being invited to an event to find out more about a new ‘Sanctuary in Rochford’ committee.
The new committee will hold the landlord to account and oversee how community funding should be spent.
The event is on Monday 4 July, between 5.30 - 7.00pm at Parish Rooms, 82 West Street, Rochford, SS4 1AS. Anyone who is unable to make the event can also call on 0800 131 3348 or 0300 123 3511 or email email@example.com to find out more.
In 2007, Rochford Housing Association (RHA) was set up as part of Sanctuary Housing Association to invest over £40 million on homes in Rochford district. A Board made up of residents, councillors and independent people were appointed to oversee the improvements over 10 years.
These works are nearly complete and now the Association and the Board of RHA are looking to the best way to manage things in the future.
The new Sanctuary in Rochford committee will help decide how to fund community development groups and local investment projects. It will also ensure that Sanctuary is delivering on its promises.
Emma Keegan, Managing Director of Rochford Housing Association, said: “We have a proud heritage of resident involvement in Rochford, and we are now looking for more people who can contribute to making our homes and communities ever better places to live.”
