Sanctuary support a Banbury breakfast bonanza

9 February 2015

Sanctuary Housing placed breakfast on the specials board in Banbury, as they supported National Breakfast Week with staff and the local community centre.

Staff from the leading housing provider put on their aprons and volunteered at The Hill Youth and Community Centre’s weekly community breakfast.

Held every Tuesday, The Hill’s early morning feast ranges from a hot bowl of porridge to tasty bacon butties, with the aim of providing an early morning boost to all that attend. Sanctuary was keen to meet with residents and volunteer their time to wash up the breakfast crockery.

Graham Nolan, head of neighbourhood partnerships at Sanctuary Housing, said: “The weekly breakfast club is a great activity provided by the local community centre and National Breakfast Week was a perfect time to support it”.

Sheena Gow, from the Hill, added: “Our weekly breakfast drop in session is an opportunity for people to meet others and chat together over a bacon roll. It was good to have some of the staff from Sanctuary with us – and we appreciated their help with washing up!”

Anyone is welcome to join the breakfast morning on Tuesday’s, during term time, 9 to 10am.  For more information about the Hill Youth and Community Centre, call 01295 266650.
