Sheffield jobs on offer
A range of Sheffield employers will be on hand to promote live job vacancies and discuss career opportunities. Residents will have the chance to sign up for a one-to-one CV workshop and receive expert advice on what employers are looking for and advisers from Sheffield College and Jobcentre Plus will be available to talk about training opportunities and give out information on local apprenticeships.
Who’s coming to Shiregreen Jobs Fair
As well as Sanctuary, other local organisations attending the October event will include Samfos Health, Keepmoat and Skills Made Easy.
Sanctuary’s Support of SOAR
Shiregreen Jobs Fair forms part of Sanctuary’s wider support of SOAR, with a funding award of nearly £5,000 to the charity going towards the running of job clubs in the area. Last year’s donation from Sanctuary saw 32 residents secure employment through the job club service.
Sophie Lejeune-Peggie, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager for Shiregreen, said: “It’s so important for residents to have access to employment and training opportunities and by working in partnership with SOAR we are helping local community members achieve their career ambitions.
“If you’re looking for a new job or training opportunity, come along to our jobs fair. Over 100 people attended the last event and we’d like to see even more people this year.”
The jobs fair will take place on Friday 9 October from 10.30am-2.30pm at Firth Park Library, 443 Firth Park Road, Sheffield S5 6QQ. All residents are welcome and can just turn up on the day.
For more information, contact Annie Grant at SOAR by calling 0114 244 0401 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Anyone who can’t attend the jobs fair but would like advice on careers or training in Shiregreen can contact Annie.
SOAR’s weekly job clubs are held at One Stop Shop, 19 Bellhouse Road, Sheffield, S5 6HJ. Sessions run Monday to Friday from 9.30am-noon and 12.30pm-3.30pm. Appointments are required for the afternoon session.
This project was part-funded by Sanctuary Group’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
