Energise Blacon, now entering its second year, forms part of Sanctuary’s national Love Sport programme, in partnership with Sport England, which is taking place in Blacon and three further Sanctuary neighbourhoods.
Sanctuary’s Love Sport programme is a five-year commitment in Blacon
Sanctuary’s commitment to the five-year programme, which aims to engage more than 2,250 residents around the country in activities and see the benefits of regular exercise, has been match-funded by Sport England through National Lottery investment.
Cherry Shagan, Sanctuary Housing’s Love Sport project coordinator, said: “These are the start of a wide range of exercise activities which will be on offer over the next six months in Blacon. All abilities are welcome and we would like to see as many Blacon residents as possible getting energised.”
“Not only will the programme promote improved health and wellbeing, we hope it will encourage residents to engage with others in the local community and develop skills which will be useful in the future.”
