A mix of enjoyable activities and tasty refreshments were on hand for families to enjoy, ranging from magic and salsa dancing to close encounters with wild animals.
Andy Shepherd, chairman of the FUN committee, said: “We are thrilled with the number of residents who turned up to this year’s event. We pulled out all the stops to organise a range of entertaining activities for all the family to enjoy.
“Everyone here at FUN is grateful for the support we have received from Sanctuary Housing in our annual summer fete.”
Lynne Roberts, neighbourhood partnerships manager at Sanctuary Housing, added: “All families had fun in the sun and the community spirit could be felt by all – children were running around with painted masks enjoying all the animals, while parents sampled the delicious food.
“It was brilliant to see the local families having such an entertaining time and enjoying the great British weather in such a positive way. It’s very important to us to bring the communities we operate in together as much as possible.”
FUN, community group led by local residents, aims to look for new ways to bring the community together a number of events throughout the year.
