Community groups in Rochford in need of funding for projects that are helping people during the coronavirus outbreak are being invited to apply for a share of £5,000.
Sanctuary Housing is offering grants of up to £500 per application so that local groups can continue to provide vital services such as financial management assistance and health and wellbeing support.
The money has been made available through Maureen’s Gift, a community fund that was established 10 years ago and has benefitted hundreds of people over the past decade.
Applications are open now to charities, community groups, residents’ associations and voluntary organisations, although projects only benefitting individuals are not accepted.
Akin Oyefeso, Sanctuary’s Housing Services Manager in Rochford, said: “Our local communities play an integral role in the lives of so many people and now more than ever it is imperative that they get the support they need.
“I would encourage any group who would benefit from this money to get in touch to see how we can help.”
