Women across the Bay are invited to kick-start their new year fitness goals following the extension of popular sports sessions.

Football sessions for local females extended

Funded by Sanctuary Housing in partnership with Sport England, local organisation Sports & Fitness4U started delivering football sessions for females aged 16 and over last month.

Due to popular demand, the classes will now run every Friday from 7pm at Paignton Community and Sports Academy (PCSA) Sports Hall, and have been extended until 22 March.

Boost to a healthy lifestyle

The programme aims to give a boost to both the physical and mental health of those participating, with mentoring opportunities also on offer. All sessions are free and will include healthy refreshments.

Love Sport

The football workshops form part of Sanctuary’s Love Sport initiative, which is taking place in neighbourhoods around the country and aims to engage more than 2,250 residents in sport and fitness activities.

“Reach even more Bay residents”

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, said: “The sessions have proven very popular and we are thrilled to offer support to Sports & Fitness4U to reach even more Bay residents.

“If one of your new year’s resolutions was to get fit and healthy then these sessions are ideal for you.”
